silber has been bugging me to learn how to actually /color/ in open canvas, so I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with. Yeah yeah yeah I'll eat my hat later. I just don't wanna give him the satisfaction of being right ;P

I don't get it. This looks very nice. What's the problem?

There is no problem. I just don't want to admit Silber was right that I should have tried this a long time ago =)

the nice thing about open canvas and it's color management is the following. first, color the background. Then if you chose another multiple layer, and choose a color on that layer, it dsiplays as "that" color. In fotoshop it is mixed the the background color you chose. This makes working with propper colors much easier.

Also, the way I work like is the following. First put a background color. Then, make a flat color layer. Just the basic colors, no shading, no nothing. Just get the marrkings right.

Add another multiple layer and this time around chose greays. Start with a very light grey and apply it for shading. Work your way down the greys to apply ever darker shading where it fits. For the highlights, make yet another layer, addition oder standart, whatever you like better.

This is a very nice badge, btw. I like the theme and the way it was set into picture ;)

what version of open canvas are you using, 3? and did you do the lineart there, too? Just curious, 1.0 you can't switch between PS and oC..

I personally love opencanvas for certain types of work because it less complex than photoshop.
