Illustrator Help?
I should know this, and I don't know why I have forgotten, but say you make a text box and you type in it but there's some overflow text and its hidden because the size of the text box is too small, how do you expand the text box so that you can see all the text? I consulted Illustrator Help and it wasn't very helpful. It said:

# Adjust the size of the type container.
# Link the type container to another type container so that the overflow text flows into the second type container. Create one or more copies of the type container, if necessary.

Is there some sort of command I can use to display the rest of the text in the text container? Everything I've read is either not informative or is really confusing.

Use the selection tool (the black arrow on the top left)
Select the text box (click it)
Grab one of the white boxes and pullllll

The end!

I have been doing this, but for some reason it doesn't "scale" it, it just moves the box at the size at it is to another location

Hmmm, the only things I can think of: It has to be the black arrow to adjust the size of the box, it can't be the white arrow. And, you have to grab the handles (those white boxes around the perimeter of the text box) to adjust the size. The black arrow *should* turn into two arrows pointing away from each other when you mouse over one. Is it doing that?

No its not. There's a little box next to the black arrow that is black but turns white when i hit a corner point, but i don't get /any/ of the typical scaling arrows when i go over the text box. I don't understand why =/

Interesting, I don't think I ever got that before. I would try one more thing, go to the layers portion and make sure the text box is the only thing selected (if it's in a group make sure it's the only thing selected in the group.)

If all else fails, copy the text (you can copy all of it by just have the text box itself selected I think) and paste it into a fresh text box. ;)

Is there some kind of option on the text box in the various menus that should be checked or unchecked for me to be able to change the size of it?

I never worked with illustrator but have you tried to select the text? "ctrl + a" it's the common comand to select all or try to go to the menu and see if the comand is somewhere there, and then just resize the text
it's just a suggestion, since I never saw illustrator in my life I don't know how to help you more :/
