Oh oh oh oh! Will you please PLEASE take photos of the FOOD!?

Wurstel! Sauerkraut! Beer! And some of the best bread in the world! Om nom nom!
From: silber Date: July 19th, 2006 02:50 pm (UTC) (Link)
LOL!

Bread and beer aside, the other stuff is pretty much cliché. Haven't had Sauerkraut in years =)
mythos_amante From: mythos_amante Date: July 19th, 2006 03:31 pm (UTC) (Link)
Well, maybe for you, Mr. German! XD As for me, being an American, that's what I had when I went to Germany and it was VERY cool...really made me happy! (Of course, I was in Bavaria...I know it's like the difference between Norcal and Socal to you Germans. ;D ) I think the Biergartens are very interesting! (I like the weis beer cut with lemonade!), And seeing guys standing around in lederhosen at the train station as if they were guys dressed in cowboy duds here was just....mindblowing! XD

Sauerkraut for the WIN!
From: silber Date: July 20th, 2006 10:10 am (UTC) (Link)
Oh, no doubt, I love good Sauerkraut myself. The problem is "good" here. Hardly know anybody managing to do it right anymore (btw, my family comes from Bavaria, been there lots and lots)

And as we are at it, I love the concepts of Biergartens, especially during comfy summer evenings. Unluckily there are no around where I live.

About the Lederhosen dudes...no comment ;)

Wow....German cities make ours look like thrown-together commercial crap :(
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: July 19th, 2006 03:40 pm (UTC) (Link)
True, but dont be fooled. downtown Frankfurt is almost completely Bauhaus because the rest of the cool buildings were bombed to hell and back. Ew.
From: silber Date: July 20th, 2006 10:12 am (UTC) (Link)
Niko is qite right there. Every city above 50.000 people was quite literally bombed to rubbles, and few have been rebuilt to their former uniqueness. Pity, but eh.

Still, going into smaller towns you still have that all over the place.

Cool, I've been to Germany once and I look forward to visiting that place again :)

It's so beautiful there; I'd love to visit Germany. I'd especially love to visit with my mum - she's always wanted to go back for a holiday, and it'd solve the language barrier problems for me.

Do you know where Wilhelmshaven is? That's the town she grew up in. Whereabouts are you staying? I'm sure you've mentioned it before but my brain, eet stoopid.

I'll have to show mum these photos when I see her this weekend. :D Thanks for posting. WANT MORE!

thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: July 19th, 2006 08:45 pm (UTC) (Link)
Hofheim, just outside of Frankfurt.

and naw i dont know where Wilhelmshaven is unfortunately.
From: silber Date: July 20th, 2006 10:18 am (UTC) (Link)
Actually Wilhelmshaven is a North Sea City. Quite a distance away from where I stay, but a beautiful region!

If anybody asks why your LJ is sopping wet, it's because I've just covered it in drool.

And you never know what September will bring...you might just see me in a biergarten near you. Jealousy does strange things to a coyote's travel plans!

thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: July 19th, 2006 10:27 pm (UTC) (Link)
well if you should find yourself in Germany let me know and I may join you for a drink ;)
