Dude, I need something in that style of Murdock and Roscoe! haha

By the way, any word on the package? Do you now if it arrived?!

Wow, October! Longest vacation ever! Are you planning on moving there?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: August 20th, 2006 10:42 pm (UTC) (Link)
Dunno yet! I haven't yet decided on if I could live here or not. The price of beef and milk here are astronomical...but beer is cheap. Decisions decisions...
wicked_sairah From: wicked_sairah Date: August 20th, 2006 10:50 pm (UTC) (Link)
I'm sure you could live on beer alone. ;)

Ahh.. Germany. I place I want to visit, but never will be able to. hehe

I have to ask, how much would a gallon (if they sell 'em by the gallon) of Milk be and a pound of hamburger? I'm curious now. :D

I wouldn't know. *Pulp Fiction mode* They have the metric system here. They don't have pounds or gallons. :D

BUT its freaking expensive either way. They don't have the jugs of milk like we do in the grocery store. They have boxes of hyperpasteurized milk that can last until the world ends even if its sitting out (will go great with radioactive twinkies and cockroach meat I'd imagine) or they have "fresh milk" which barely lasts a couple days as its fresh from the cow with high fat content and THAT, is like...close to 1.50 for what I'd assume is juuuust under what you'd get in a carton. I usually pay a buck...less than for a gallon. Basically this considered its 4 bucks a gallon. (but like I said this is the really high fat content really high quality milk, but I have yet to see anything middle ground even at the cheap stores)

The reason for this is because they lack the land for cattle to graze, so the few cows they have they mark up in price.

Also, you can't get a lb of hamburger meat like you can in the grocery store (metric system aside), they sell what looks like quarter pounds. Single size servings just enough to make one hamburger patty. This, of course, is in my limited experiences with the stores here, but beef is really hard to find, its mostly pork here. Pork pork pork. And you can surprisingly disguise pork to be like beef, but dammit....I love beef too much.

Hope this answers some questions.

Wow, very interesting. Are you going to make a full report when you get back on all of the interesting facts about Germany that you have learned while there? Don't think I could live there though since I'm not an alcohol drinker (I prefer tea).

they have tea here =)

And little by little I'll probably mention things here and there, yeah =)

Awesome.
Whisky? Smell of fancy tobacco in the air? Snarky person leering at me with extreme right-wing symbols?
Add an eastern european cartoon playing on the background and south american comicbooks and you preety much have my toodlership condensed there.

Cute piece; I really love art with smoking furries for some reason. So, did you enjoy your first cigar? I've tried a few times yet really couldn't enjoy it...

Friended, by the way.

i thought you had me friended then unfriended me a couple days ago >_o hurh?

anyways, yeah I enjoyed it. I just didn't enjoy the after affect of my mouth tasting like a casino ashtray but the before experience was good.
