Political cartoons? On THIS journal?
I wasn't going to post this because I am honestly nervous of death threats but if people are going to get bent out of shape and not realize how stupid theyre being then good god...so much for free speech. And if this loses me some LJ friends, I'm sorry you couldn't see the humor in human stupidity, good day to you.

I drew a comic based on current events, well, most current events that is, this happens on a regular basis it seems anyway.

Here's the pic that spawned it:

And here's my comic under the cut

*facepalm*

What is this world coming to that people feel the answer to something they don't like is violence and flag burning? Yeah...pfft...THAT'LL fix it reeeeal good.

I just love how they are demanding a different apology. Can anyone even remember when a single Muslim cleric apologized for what they have said and done? And those are the bastards yelling that westerners should die!

Then they wonder why we think of all Muslims as violent, out of control hate-factories. Gee, ya' think?

Its like with Christians, the loud ones get the attention, but at the same time I don't see many Muslim leaders stepping forward and saying "hey these yokels don't represent us".

Just the same though, minor disagreements should not equal flag burning and death threats!

Ouch, so ouch, because so true.

without satire, how can we be able to laugh at ourselves? It keeps things realistic and in perspective . . I have tolerance for ALOT of things in this world, but close-mindedness is not one of them

I feel the same as you. I don't feel anyone should be immune to satire. In the case of the Dane who drew mohammed. Its pretty much a no no for people to make fun of other religions but its done anyways, and Im sure the muslims laughed at Jesus getting his lights punched out on Southpark, but the second their religion is targeted? oh hell naw.

Same with Scientologists...but thats another rant deserving of a whole other comic.

I see people getting offended by this toon, but I'm entitled to my opinion on my journal. *shrugs*

So Muslims react to the Pope's statement that Muslims are violet people with...acts of violence. Way to hurt your credibility, geniuses.

Well, I never talk about politics. But I can say it's always noted that timing in comedy is everything.
And the ". . . O_O " panel of you is perfect timing XD

*snerk* Seriously, the repeated over-reaction to every little thing makes it incredibly hard for anyone to sympathise with them. Not that they were sympathetic before, but at least on the grounds that they were human, and humans are allowed to have beliefs, I tried to at least respect where they were coming from, if not like or embrace it.

I guess that's people though. You gotta laugh when it's true.

I temp added you to my flist over that little dispute we had to clear some misgivings up but I might keep you here just because of this comic. This was wonderful, and so true.

Do you mind if I post this to my atheist community? They would get a good laugh from it.

Also you should go into politcal cartooning cause this is great!

I haven't laughed this hard since I saw the pictures of the one moron who set himself on fire accidentally while burning an American flag...
