A little delayed, time to do some art!
Since I was way too exhausted from cleaning to drive today (I'm leaving tomorrow) I figured I'd unwind by doing art. A little too flustered to do commissions right now so I did my ACEO for this month's aceofursxchange.

This one's for Khalamea - Gouache and pen on watercolor paper

Thank you! Btw I still have your sketchbook with me. I deeply apologize for having it this long. I'll just keep drawing in it until I can afford to ship it XD

PFFT, I told you to keep it as long as ya had to. No worries..I'm humbled that you would even want to draw in the silly thing. (if you are going to fc, just bring it then..otherwise...whenever..Im not in a hurry)

Okies. I'll bring it to FC but if it looks like I'm not going I'll let you know. The only thing keeping me from FC is school >_> I don't know if I'm getting in this semester or not.

Your paintings always make me happy! One of these days I'll have to commission you for one.

Thankoo :) I'm really enjoying painting (this coming from the person who said she'd NEVER paint) and ACEO's give me good reason to practice :)

Thanks! It was hard to fit a white tiger within a traditional autumn setting >_> But I like playing with shading white.

Well, it was watered down a lot so I used it like tube watercolors but made it opaque where I needed it to be :3

Nicely done! I'm so in love with the work you've been doing lately. Your compositions are interesting and original, your palette is usually simple yet elegant and is pulled of nicely, and your sense of light and colour astounds me. Doing great work Thorn, I keep looking forward to the next thing you do. ^^

Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear you like my composition. That's something I really struggle with a lot, trying to make things interesting and balanced without being boring. Hopefully I can break out of boring a bit more.

Man do I know what you mean... I'm prety well stuck as far as compotision goes a lot, because I want to get right to painting. I always want to get right to painting, and forget about actually composing something good before I start with the paint. ><;

My thing I have a hard time doing is breaking away from the "viewer looking straight at the characters who are interacting with each other on the same plane of perspective" thing. I've been trying to put more things into the foreground and background and overlap stuff so it creates a bit more depth, but i have a loooong way to go. And boy I hear you, half the things I want to color I don't end up coloring because I'm so wiped out from the sketching process ;P

Well, congrats to you for taking it that far though. =) I think I can take a lesson from you in that sense. One of my illustration teachers keeps trying to drill into my head, that all the work is in the planning/sketching stages, and painting is the fun part at the end.

Take your time with whatever you're working on right now... I really love everything you're posting here. The way you color is amazing, you've really got a good feel for it. And like everyone, I really like the low point of view in here, that makes an image much more interesting.

those colours look fantastic, i actually found some old art supplies and some gouache, reckon its worth colouring this picture with it?
