Dinner...is...served!
Haven't seen my boyfriend in a year and a half. I miss him so bad it hurts and have been really depressed about it as of lately. So, I draw silly stories from happier times.

He's the reason I don't like people milling around in the kitchen when I'm cooking. A 2lb roast will lose a quarter of a pound /before/ cooking 9_9

Current Location: far away.
Current Mood: sad sad
Current Music: Frasier

I do the cooking when my fiance' and I are together, lol. I go all Colette on her butt and kick her out.

*hugs*
I know how you feel, my lady is up in Canada. Not further by comparison, but still pretty far.

Oh he's a /marvelous/ cook. I just prefer to cook steak because I'm American and it's what we do best. Never let a European do an Ami's job when it comes to fatty, buttered, battered, fried or beefy :)

He enjoys my "American style cooking". But i enjoy all the things he makes. But i don't bother him in the kitchen! *fist shake*

And to me "distance" is really measured by how often you get to see someone. I feel for you. LDR's are tough, but I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

She just prefers me to cook, so I push her out of the kitchen to let me do my job ;) My gal can bake though. I make the dinner, she provides the dessert!

And amen to that, I wouldn't let my lady go for any reason.

ohyeah, MY kitchen, tripple underline that ;)
ohman, I've had a distance relationship too, I know how you feel *hugs tight*. But will you come to EF this year? or Germany in general?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 10:46 pm (UTC) (Link)
*hugs* Naw. I don't think I'll get to go back to my second home for a long time due to school. EF is a no go unfortunately :( I miss Germany really bad, but my education comes first. The best bet is for him to come see me because he gets more vacation than I do.

Hey, technically it was my kitchen :D

AND you DO need to use more pepper! in general! period!

Man that brings back quite a few memories. Good times.
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 10:44 pm (UTC) (Link)
When I'm manning the stove it's /my/ kitchen ;9 *swat*

And oddly I find myself using much more pepper nowadays. you'd be so proud of me! I encrust the meat in pepper now :3

Oh! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have started that discussion yesterday ... it's all my fault! :S
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 07:12 pm (UTC) (Link)
naw its not. its been going on for a long time. just some disappointing news yesterday (not in our conversation) really drove it home for me and I had to figure out a way to stop crying.

Grilling is a man's job, but its one I like to take over as again, Americans and our beef should not be separated! But Phil can light the grill. IMA SKEERED! the "kachunk...kachunk...kachunk" of the gas grill lighters or the dousing of lighter fluid for the charcoal...oh god. Too many times seeing final destination 2

how come it's been so long, if you don't mind me askin'?

A year and a half would -kill- me :(
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 07:10 pm (UTC) (Link)
Money mostly. I had intended on using the money I had earned from FC to fund the trip, and I could have, but instead I was a good Samaritan and helped a friend out with that money, and then some, instead...and it ruined my life. I'm still picking up the pieces, and the worse part is I don't know when I'll get to see my boyfriend again because of it.
rileycostello From: rileycostello Date: April 27th, 2008 07:18 pm (UTC) (Link)
Aww :(

you should do a sketchbook auction/raffle or something! It could be like 5 or 10 pages, maybe more, of fun sketches and stuff, with x amount of time as a deadline (6 months? more?) and the more it goes up to, you could color some or something.

People really go for auctions/raffles like that if you tell them why you need the money! Furries love romance XD I'd even buy a ticket or contribute somehow since I know how it goes. I'm trying to save up for our wedding in may, which isn't going well, but I could send you some money anyway! It sucks to miss someone. :(
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 07:23 pm (UTC) (Link)
congratulations :3

I'll see what I can do. The problem is the reason I've shut down commissions is because I literally have no time. School and work is taking its toll on me pretty bad and I won't have time to take any again until after my term, but that's not until summer and I had hoped to get him out here by summer. A deadline sounds interesting. 5-10 pages sounds do-able. Thats a good idea. I'll try to clear some stuff off my plate and see if I can do something like this.

The problem with raffles is they are illegal, no one seems to realize this, but its a form of gambling unless they're for charity such as church raffles. So I don't really wanna do that, but an auction might work.
rileycostello From: rileycostello Date: April 27th, 2008 07:28 pm (UTC) (Link)
raffles are illegal? wow, I didn't know that. XD

How much would it cost to get him to visit you/vice versa? If you could get some of your friends to contribute to the sketchbook, even a page or two, I betcha it would go for more. :O

..i'm still surprised raffles are illegal. ah, little do i know XD if you do decide to do an auction you can still decide to take paypal donations or something, though, maybe make a doodly icon for someone if they donate more than $15 or something. *shrugs* If you do decide to take donations let me know, I'll try to send a little bit your way, every little bit counts. :)
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 07:36 pm (UTC) (Link)
ok :3 I'll try to clear some stuff off my plate. I was trying to keep things hush hush because I don't like to come across as desperate but...ah well. I'm at my wits end here. Try to do a good thing, blows up in your face, and you're out one visit with your boyfriend >_< Ah well. So much for being nice I guess XD

I wouldn't want to bother my friends with such a thing really, but I like to do nice things for people who go above and beyond.

Thank you :3

And yeah I actually just found out raffles are illegal what with everyone and their mother doing raffles lately. Its one of those things that seems like a good idea at the time, but really isn't. But yanno...i guess unless someone is a real jerk and turns you in its not like people are going to find out. But I'd still rather not do it just in case.
rileycostello From: rileycostello Date: April 27th, 2008 07:41 pm (UTC) (Link)
well, can't be too careful.

And nowadays, I tell ya- it seems like doing something nice only gets you a bunch of shit in return. -_-;; it's stuff like that happening that jades people and makes them not so willing to do stuff like that in the future. :( And people wonder why the world is the way it is. D:

And really, I dunno, seeming desperate is one thing, but actually really needing to be helped out (because you did a nice thing and it backfired) is a completely different thing entirely. I've heard that the furry community is very generous, though I have yet to see that personally (I've posted asking to take commissions so I can save up for our wedding, and am even offering $5 badges and stuff that I would normally charge more for), it's worked for a lot of people that really needed to be helped out. I just hope we can put something together for our wedding, 'cause we're stretched pretty tightly financially, enough not to be able to save, anyhow.

So I dunno, it might work for you, and dammit, visiting your boyfriend is really important. >:O Especially after a year and a half. D: I'd have died by then, personally. You're a hell of a lot stronger than I am! ;) What is your paypal address? I would like to send you a little bit to get you started. :3
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 07:53 pm (UTC) (Link)
Awwww thank you so much :3 You're so sweet.

My paypal addy is thornwolf227@gmail.com. Hopefully you can get stuff saved up for your wedding alright! Again, congratulations :3

And yeah I suppose. I just worry about people seeing me as a mooch XD I guess if I explain it won't be so bad. The furry fandom is indeed very generous I've noticed. For all the bad things about it there's also a lot of good things, so it evens out pretty nicely :)
rileycostello From: rileycostello Date: April 27th, 2008 07:54 pm (UTC) (Link)
Ah, I don't think anyone would ever see you as a mooch, just simply because of the fact that you're concerned with being seen that way means that you don't behave in such a way to warrant such an assumption. ;) Usually it's the people who are unconcerned with being seen that way that actually DO that kind of thing.

Incoming starter $ :)
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 27th, 2008 07:59 pm (UTC) (Link)
awrez :3 thank you again so much. what does your character look like? I want to do a little doodle for you once I get this ball rolling for the folks who donate over $15 as you suggested ;)
rileycostello From: rileycostello Date: April 27th, 2008 08:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
ah, nah, don't worry about it ;)

I appreciate the thought, though! :)

I'm amazed!

Year and a half! I thought you got at least to the last EuroFurence!

You're so full of anger!

Re: I'm amazed!

I have a severe Napoleon complex. If I don't appear serious then I'm just a cute little midget to toss around :)

And naw, didn't get to go, and won't get to go again for quite some time due to school. the only option right now is for him to come here and with any luck (which at this point will be a miracle) I might get to see him winter break for Christmas by going over there and seeing my family across the pond. But ah well.
mbala From: mbala Date: April 27th, 2008 11:12 pm (UTC) (Link)

I'm amazed!

If you learned to juggle, you could work at the airport at the baggage belts. People keep staring at them for so long, waiting for their baggage, and they are not built to carry normal people. I think there should be juggling midgets going round and round, so the wait is more entertaining. Allow me to illustrate:

I squish my thumbs so you get to see him over Christmas! I had a long distance relationship with Fox for almost 2 months, and it was hard. Especially because I was coming to work at 2PM, because I "could not get over the jet lag" as I was spending entire nights online talking with her.

Re: I'm amazed!

ROFL!!! Oh man Mbala, thank you, that made my night :)

And I hear you. When I used to have a more rigid work schedule and Phil and I were in the infancy of our relationship many long nights were spent talking on skype D: Now, for the sake of the bags under our eyes, we've found a nice happy schedule XD

When it comes to cooking steaks, I am in charge. Everything else, the wife rules with an Iron Ovenmitt. She's pretty much a Vegan so handling my and the kid's meat requirements falls to me every few days.

Mmm. Pepper and margerine. Can't beat a steak broiled over open flame with pepper, onion, margerine and garlic.
