Mac update
Okay thanks guys first of all for your awesome help on what it could be! I have an appointment at the Apple store tomorrow to have them take a looksie because if it is that little watch battery inside I'm sure as hell not going in after it myself.

But I have a spare battery, my old one that held a charge but didn't last as long as the new one. I popped that one in and...lo and behold! No promt telling me to set my clock, nothing saying its 4 PM on December 29th 1969, and best of all? i can unplug it from the wall and its STILL ON! :D

So, that leads me to believe something is indeed wrong with the outer battery itself, this new one I bought.

Didn't someone say there was a recall or something?

I guess the question is: Alright, now what?

so it was that Battery *giggles* XD

these batteries were not in the recall
the batteries inthe recall were these big lithium ones ( the ones that gives power to the computer when its not plugged in )
that tiny battery only gives energy to the BIOS-like program

no it is the outer battery. the lithium one I guess. I don't have the ability to access the BIOS one if by BIOS you mean the little watch battery inside

Checked. My battery is not part of the exchange program. I wonder what happened?! My dad was the one who bought the battery so..iiii dunno what the story is on that one. I'm debating on canceling my appointment and having him deal with whoever he bought the battery from.

Wow. Yeah, smells like a shorted battery then. Good thing you tried the other one, it WAS the only thing that had been changed. Ouy.
