Need things to color
I don't have a whole lot of time to sit and focus on commissions right now but I've been kind of wanting to unwind by teaching myself something.

What I'm looking for: Do you have any relatively cleaned up lineart or easily follow-able sketches of humans? Faces, hands, full bodies, anything? May I have them so I can practice coloring?

The biggest problem I have with learning stuff is getting past the sketch stage. I get so wrapped up in doing a sketch that I /like/ that I never get to the actual "learn to color/light this stuff" part. So I figure if I have someone else's stuff I can get past that and just do that.

I appreciate it.

Oh btw my email is thornwolf227 AT gmail DOT com

Also, any links to tutorials on skin tones and lighting for human subjects are great! dingybatty I just got that one you linked, I had it somewhere but it's good to make sure I have it :D

What kind of image setup are you looking for? Vector vs bitmap? 1 bit B/W adjusted vs. 24 bit unadjusted scan? Or all of the above?

All of the above. I'm going to be coloring it in Photoshop anyways just as some scratch samples so if its vectors its just going to be guidelines anyhow :)

Okay, sure, I'll send you a mix of stuff tomorrow when I get to the office. :)

If you can, it's always fun to practice on existing comic pages, you've just got to find the inked versions. Ryan Sook is a pretty awesome comics artist, tons of pages on his site. Or fish around deviantART, many people are fine with letting others colour their lines :)

As for skin tones and lighting, you've probably seen Prom's tutorial but it's well worth a look over again. This one by Maidith is more recent (http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=169521) but seems to be good too.

I've seen Prom's but I have not seen Maidith's, that is AWESOME! Thank you for the links :D They will be most useful

No problemo :) The smaller areas of the forums are a goldmine of information.

If you want to colour something, just take a look on my LJ or DA galleries ... Probably those skecthes lack of quality, but they're still useful I think! ;D

PS: Talking about that, do you still have the lineart of our old collaboration? XD

Probably not since the computer change. I know, I'm awful! I want it though because I want to practice clouds. Could you send it one last time please? I am just awful awful I know.

Unfortunately I can't ... I left that file in Spain :( I tried to check my E-mail to recover a copy of that lineart, but it was no longer there.

Maybe you can download it from my DA gallery, but it won't be as big as it should (lower quality for the net, you know) and there's still the watermark! :P

That's right you uploaded it huh, I'll just nab it from there. I can blow it up no prob :)
