idea! - The art of Thornwolf — LiveJournal
i like being asked questions..no..not "will you draw for me?!" but serious, intelligent questions. ie: my thoughts on things. ive noticed that though people read my LJ they never have the chance to actually ask something either about me, or my opinions that they want to know.

so heres your chance.

ask me anything =) but please, no anonymous posts. lets keep things polite ;)

oh and forgive me if this sounds conceited at all..but if you think about it...this is /my/ journal =D
im just a curious little wuffy girl i guess ;)

What exactly -is- Thorn's nationality? Now ya got me all curious. =D
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 3rd, 2003 01:49 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thorn is German. i didnt ask what /my/ nationality was..which is german and cherokee and some other european junk..i asked what hers was..and yes, its German. the reason for this is because her name derives from my last name, which means Thorn Soap in German..so i thought it was only fitting =)

besides, theres too many native american wolves out there =P

The creepy old man on the corner just gave you a Million Dollars.

He says, come back here tomorrow, and I'll give you five more million if you can prove you've spent your million in one day.

You have the rest of the day to spend that million, and get back to the old man at 12:00am.

What would you buy?

Re: Congradulations!!!

considering my situation, id buy a house, a plane ticket to NY and a new car that will be waiting for me when i get there. with the remaining money that id get from the old man the next day, id pay for college, not to mention that when i come back to cali, i could sell the car i had in NY. as for what id LIKE to do unrealistically...hrm...probably the same =/

damn i want that money

Well, June 27-29 for sure. We'll probably come in to town a day or two before the tournament starts and stay another day or two after that. Nothing's carved in stone yet, though, aside from the tournament dates.

Who was the person that inspired you to draw and how many times have you been asked that?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 3rd, 2003 03:12 pm (UTC) (Link)
ive never been asked this =)

ive always drawn..so as far as inspiration goes, ive always had it..its kinda been my own. sure ill get it from cartoons and such but..meh.

as far as who inspired me and got me into the furry fandom, then the answer is the art of margaret petrie aka nduli. i fell in love with balto awhile back and while looking at her MARVELOUS balto fan art, i stumbled upon her gallery which had a link to yerf and thus i discovered the wonderful world of furry art and realized i wasnt alone =)

Kay, I got a question for you...

who or what inspires you, not for art, but in life in general? kinda like who is/ what is your role model?

and another one...
overused, but if u were the most famous person alive, and you could use your fame to influence people to do one thing, what would it be?

ps. "will u draw something for me?" JK :0)

see ya over break i hope!!

Re: Kay, I got a question for you...

ooo thats a toughie. the thing is i really dont have any role models. im weird that way. i never really /had/ one. i take bits and pieces of everyones life that i like and strive to apply them to mine somehow...like i like Tav's work ethic, i love my dads ability to accomplish things, i like my nanas ability to cook etc etc.i kinda make all that up to be my own made up role model.

if i had to use my fame for something, hrm....i wouldnt use it politically i can tell you that much, but i would probably use it to get people to stop smoking. i hate smoking, and ive seen what it causes. i feel if im famous then id have a bit more influence.

Re: Kay, I got a question for you...

i would say the same thing goes for me for the role model question :0) no one is perfect, but i can try and model myself from the bits and pieces of other people that i like.... :0)

What is thorns back story (if she has one mind you)?

Also her colours have any meaning behind them? Cause I always see your colouring and think "the grey woof with the quaterhorse star" Which I love!

And have you done anything fictional, RPish anything written+story like with Thorn?

I wanna know too! Heh...

...these questions are all better than mine...

well i currently dont have a story for her, but when i created her she had a brother named Scratch. Then there were two more characters named Angel and Diablo, one a white wolf and one a black wolf...scratch looked more like Thorn though, he was white with a little bit of gray. ill draw the old version of Thorn for you sometime.

the thing with Thorn though, is she had that telepathic capability that Leeloo had in 5th Element, also she could travel in time warps which she created herself. Her brother Scratch was electrokinetic and could do the same time traveling. so what they did was travel through time and just..live. they were never happy in one time period for very long..sort of a nomadic lifestyle.

My friend Kura once attempted to use her in a story, but he got kinda tired of it.

so now, ive added a bit more gray to her, taken away her powers, but now shes just a kickass amazon with the personality of Silent Bob and the mystery of Batman. make sense?

What is your favorite medium to work in?

Favorite techniques?

If you could acheive one goal in five years, what would it be?

What means the most to you?

thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 4th, 2003 09:38 am (UTC) (Link)
favorite medium > sketching with mechanical pencil. its quick and i can get an idea on paper in 2 seconds flat *literally...im quite fast =P and i have no patience*

techniques > not sure what you mean but...i quite enjoy using colored pencil over watercolor along with some paint for highlights ala kyoldie. my other favorite is doing all the fur with mechanical pencil.

five years > to be in or have completed art school and have my degree.

means most > love *all kinds of it*, art and god. and thats....about...it.

(The good ones have all been asked!)

If you had the chance to "get away", which would you pick: a day in the woods . . . or a day in the city?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: April 4th, 2003 09:42 am (UTC) (Link)
city. but it depends what city. NYC and down town San Diego are my top choices. theres more to do there anyways. as much as i love the woods, id have to spend a week there, while if i spent time in the city, id get my fix in just that one day.
