Niko - Beer - Winter

This is what I've been up to all day. Nature said "I hope you enjoyed that hot Florida weather, welcome back to So-Cal! Miss me?"

That gray thing buried in the snow on the right hand side is my garbage bin, and also the reason why Mountain Disposal didn't pick up my garbage the whole time I was gone ;P What? Take buried cans? No..never.

And now I'm enjoying some hot buttered rum.

Hot Buttered Rum Recipe

Been getting some questions about this so I figured I'd share mine and skorzy's (well, mostly Emerill's) recipe for hot buttered rum mix.

* 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
* 2 cups light brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
* Pinch ground cloves
* Pinch salt
* Bottle spiced or dark rum (we use Sailor Jerry's spiced rum, has a nice caramel flavor)
* Boiling water

In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Refrigerate until almost firm. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into 12 small mugs. Pour about 3 ounces of rum into each mug (filling about halfway). Top with boiling water (to fill the remaining half), stir well, and serve immediately.

Happy Hot Toddy Everybody!
