This may be just the PMS talking, but why does it seem that the people who I want to impress the most don't give a crap about my art? Oh well. At least *I* have fun. =(

Current Mood: disappointed disappointed

thank you. => i guess i just sometimes wish my dad would one day say "wow great job!" or "i'm proud of you" other than "oh. i see." or i could get more than an "its...okay" from something I spent forever on. I offered mom a print of "Bacchus" and she says its not her colors etc..even though I made it specifically to match her house. *sigh*

ah yes, My mom is -just- starting to somewhat say -somewhat- positive things. She used to just kind of nod at what i've done and go "ok, okay that's nice." and now she goes "oh, that's niice" which makes a little bit of a difference o_

*hugs* I know the feeling. My family/friends/etc sometimes don't understand or like what I do, either.

Heh..but I know I love your work, and I've told you countless times :) Bacchus was gorgeous, and the colors were really good, dunno why your mom wouldn't like it.

But eh, hang in there. There's always gonna be people who don't understand/appreciate what you do. I learned it's best to just ignore them, and keep doing what makes -you- happy. :)

My mother's only response to -any- art I showed her was 'it's fine', I swear she said NOTHING else at least better than that. When your parents aren't artists they just don't give a crap about anything that's related really.

I think your art is gorgeous so hah.

what sucks is, my dads a photographer and is very well versed in the ways of the graphic artist and knows how things should look anatomically/perspective wise/etc. basically, he knows what's good art and what isnt. he prefers my muttropolis stuff, as does my boyfriend, and while i appreciate that, sometimes I'd like to spend a little more time on something fine-artist rather than my "throw it together" cartoon work. =P

Same here, sweetie...my parents only want me to draw portraits and wildlife art--boooring--and they couldn't care less (and never did) about the art I really LIKE to draw: all the fantasy and furry stuff. :/ *snugs and nuzzles*
