Thorn the city slicker
My trip with dad really made me wanna go hunting. Yes..hunting. I've had the urge before but I've never gone and never thought of killing an animal but if I ate it afterwards I'd be okay. The reason I say this is because dad told me the story of when he went boar hunting in the Florida everglades and shot a boar between the eyes with a musket. Sounds so fun!

..okay..end ramble and wishful thinking.

Current Mood: predatory predatory

...it's good for the soul. But dont take too much pleasure from another creature's pain...only do it respect after it's passed.

and eat it up yum yum =) I don't like the idea of "sport" hunting where people go out in their fancy deer-tracking computer gear that doesnt make it "sporting" for the deer, kill one, take pics with it and say "well that was fun, lets go home now" and take it as a trophy wasting the meat or just taking the life for the hell of it. Thats why dad could only hunt with a musket..its the kind you have to tamp down the shot and do the whole powder thing so you only have one shot before you have to reload again. It gives the boar more of a sporting chance.

I've been a hunter since the days I used to sit on my grandfather's lap. There's always that quiet moment when you first reguard the deer when coming upon it's lifeless form...yet I still give it thought and a small thanks every time I'm allowed the oppertunity to eat some good venison...yuummmmmmmy is right! :)

Link up with desertcoyote and see if you two could go on a hunt in arizona, as she seems to have the perfect recipes for Javolina as well. I don't know if I could hunt. It's not about killing the animal, that I can do, but all the walking and being quiet... :-)

I thought about that, considering I had wanted to see her more anyways, but I think I'd feel too weird cuz I don't like inviting myself anywhere, not to mention I'd learn how to shoot, I only know how to shoot hand-guns slightly =/

Javelina..how funny I'm wearing my "Javelina Cantina" shirt today =D

Learning to shoot is easy. Learning to shoot well takes Practice.

Heh- you're welcome to come hunting here. :) Right now there's not a lot to do but by August/September the rabbits start to look really tasty to me... and by October quail season has started. I could show you some places (hope for rain, though!). :)

(I want that shirt! :D- One of these days I'm going back to Havasu just to get that....)

I would love to go with you! I plan on being out at the lake more this summer so I'll give you a call next time I head out there and maybe we can hang out and whatnot and maybe in August or whenever you see fit we can go on a little hunting trip.

I'll get ya one of those shirts if you'd like, theyre really nice and comfy. the only shirts they have in girls sizes are the tank tops *but those fit really well...* would you want a t-shirt or a tank? They don't have white but they have red, orange, light green and I think black and light blue..

Cool. :3
I often wonder what it'd be like to hunt myself....I've always wanted to learn how to bowhunt for deer.

I have no problem with hunting when it's for prey species, it's people who kill non-edable Predatory species like wolves, cougers, bears, foxes, Bobcats and the like that bothers me.
