Okay this is getting scary
That dead body they found on Ortega Highway last night turned out to definitely be the body of that abducted 5 year old, Samantha.

I don't get it, why is all this happening so close to me?
I live just a few minutes from the place where Danielle Van Damme
was taken *my friend lives in her neighborhood and i went there a lot*
and my dad's girlfriend lives only a few minutes from where her body was found.

Now, a dead girl is found right by my art school????! I honestly don't understand how a parent could let a stranger get so close to their kids. Her friend said that the man came up to her and asked her if shed seen his lost chihuahua and then he took her!
Its not a point of whether parents are teaching their kids about strangers or not, its a point of "are the parents watching the kids?" Samantha obviously knew the man was up to no good, he just snatched her before she could do anything/defend herself. Her friend said she had to *run to go tell her mom*. where was the mom in all this??!

But how does one look after their kid without being one of those nervous paranoid parents who wont let their kids go outside without a sweater and a leash?
My parents taught me all the basics and stuff, but they also had the "password idea" where if someone was picking me up from school and saying "your mommy couldnt be here so they asked me to pick you up from school" i would ask them "whats the password?"
and if they didn't know it, my parents obviously didnt send them. Even if it was someone i knew.

Once this proved faulty because my friend from the office, Carol Anne *i had adult friends in the art department of my dads ad agency* came to pick me up and i went ahead with her and she asked "arent you supposed to ask me 'whats the password'?"

She then told me im supposed to ask it even if its a friend. I didnt understand it at the time, but i do now, because the first suspects are ALWAYS family/family friends or neighbors.

so, be specific when teaching your kids/younger siblings, cuz we dont know better *pinches own cheeks*

Also, dont move to where i live, Rancho Bernardo (RB) or Poway *where Blink182 is from* because we have the highest concentration of sex offenders in all of San Diego county. Oh sure, its an old person community, very nice and clean, but what you don't know would make you throw up. I had a registered sex offender in my neighborhood, a meth lab in my other neighborhood that exploded and lots more stuff. So yeah, i guess things aren't always what they seem. Be careful, and don't walk alone at night...or ill sneak up and abduct you myself *evil laugh*

Location, location, location

Thorn, your city is sex-offender central and mine is meth-lab junction. They keep finding the damn things all over Hollister! Must be cos it has a lot of wide open farmland still. Very easy to hide illegal crap. They even found a puppy mill there last year! :(

dead girl

hey nicole its me liz (duh). i just wanted to comment on what you said about Samantha. you said "I honestly don't understand how a parent could let a stranger get so close to their kids." but really, the girls were not very far from their house, they were just outside playing (a normal, everyday scenario) when a man came along and took her. The mom didn't "let" the stranger come so close to her, it just happened while Samantha was playing. You don't have to agree but that's all i have to say about that.
talk to you later,

Re: dead girl

Hi Liz =) no im not saying the mom just *let* the guy come up to the kids like "hi how are you mr. man go ahead and play with my kids ill just busy myself in the kitchen"
im just trying to figure out who was supervising them. were they in the back yard? was there a gate? did the guy just waltz onto their property? the news stories ive read didnt specify *where* they were, it just said what happened.
