My love for you is ticking clock BERSERKER....

I finally finished this damned thing. The shapeshifting process of berserkers for that shapeshifting book contest thingy. Lets hope the lady answers my e-mail this time.

God I love my hairy Norsemen *mrowl* Much thanks to EVERYONE who helped me with this, you know who you are and I can definitely say I learned a few things. =)

Well, I know when I'm beat. ;) I tip my hat to you.

How didja do the shadows? I'm really curious. And the ink work is amazing.

its kind of complicated but I'll try

Gladly! Well, I did the whole thing digitally =) I lost all my inking pens cuz I'm a loser, now I do everything with my tablet. I put the linework for each character on a separate layer. I then:
-copy that layer
-go to Edit> transform> distort and tweak it so that duplicate outline is in the shape/perspective you want it to be for the shadow
-fill it with black
-hold down "Ctrl" and "Alt" while clicking on that copied layer (you'll see an icon thats a pointing hand with a white box on top of it)
-That will then select the area you just filled in as black
-use the eraser tool and erase all the black you just filled in
-go to the gradient tool and select the one that is black that fades into clear
-under the "mode" option for the gradient, select "dissolve"
-apply your gradient and viola! Shadow on sand! I kind of made it up as I went so..maybe I'll figure out a way to improve it but, eh, it works for now.

Yes! You got it, mostly. Only errors I see are very minor (Shadow on the wrong side of the inside of the boat. Butyou got the idea, and the illos looks very pro, and very slick. Excellent. I hope you get the slot. and this is one for your pro portfolio now.

you know, its funny...i originally had the shadow on the other side, then i flipped a bunch of stuff around when i was working on it and didnt worry about it. well poop. Ah well. =)

On a related note, I now know where the quote from your other LJ (berserker_neko, if I recall correctly) came from. :)
