Gorgeous pose and coloring; what program? Illustrator? Wow. He's so handsome. :D

I hope the image hosting works out well! :D

Thank you so much for the hosting *snug*

Actually I used Photoshop but if you use the lasso tool to create shapes you want to color it looks like illustrator =)Something I've adopted from a couple "lion artists" for this particular image. I'm trying to develop my own technique with it though

The lasso tool? Yikes.. I've never been good with that thing. o_O Are there any tutorials out there for it, or something? :D

Not that I know of, and I'm not good enough at it to make one. =/ I kind of wished evana_love would make one but I think she's left the internet again.

I was wondering when someone would draw a Barabary lion! Besides Walter Ford, of course.

The fandom is far too devoid of Barbary lions for them being such amazingly beautiful animals! I'm actually quite surprised I haven't seen any, especially with those giant manes, so many possibilities.. Who is Walter Ford?

I cannot seemt o find a website for the painter Walter Ford :(

(Just a stalker for the art, but I gotta comment on this one.)

That mane is UBER sex. I love lion mane's that run on the tummy and elbows. Hurrah for your Barbary!

Great art! And I'm not surprised not to see more Barbary lions in fandom. I was watching a show on Animal Planet, I think the new one about zoos, and there was a Barbary lion in amongst the regular African lions in this one group. And they never even mentioned the difference! No wonder they're so rare in fandom. They're rarely mentioned in RL and only those who devour critter related info *raises her hand* know about them.

I thought Barbary lions were extinct? o_o Very nice, Thorn. I like the style.

They did think that until the 70's, they found some lions in zoos that had the same appearance and genetic makeup of Barbary lions. They had previously belonged to a wealthy ruler of sorts who had kept Barbary lions in his family for hundreds of years as a symbol of power.

Ah. That's nice to hear! :)

I'm all about extinct/supposedly extinct animals =DDD

I'm actually planning on making a char sheet like this one for my character Quasi the Quagga. I've had him for the longest time but I've never really mentioned him or colored any sketches. XD
