Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam...
Tatanka! Tatanka!

My submission for the bestiarycards project, 4 of hearts. I outlined the puffyclouds a bit more than I normally would so they would show up in the smaller version (which you'll see why below)

Detail cuz this guy is too cute:

And the actual size it will appear at. All that work for a teeeeeeny tiny pic? Youbetcha!

Biiiiig thanks to everyone who helped me with this, I learned a whole hell of a lot. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go scream. =) This is why Thornwolf doesn't color.

OH OH OH and big thank you to emlan for my new "Artistic" user pic =)

Aww, but your work looks so great! But if you don't like to color, I suppose it'll have to be a rare treat to see such pieces from you. ;)

The coloring is fine, its the deadlines that kill me. I'm such a procrastinator XD

I can't color for a really long time. It burns me out.

Looks AWESOME! You'll fit right in. ;) I just wish I could have done a card for that deck too. ;_;

Thank you so much for your help I couldn't have done it without you =)

I'm realy new to this whole lighting thing, I'm getting out of that "flat colors only!!!" phase slowly but surely.
maggock From: maggock Date: September 1st, 2005 08:42 pm (UTC) (Link)
No prob. :) I think you might have a problem I used to, and well, still have sometimes - I'm scared to cover up the work I already did with lighting effects. Don't be afraid to blob those colors on, just go for it! Just make sure to save multiple copies before you do it. ;) Just in case.

Final layer count on this baby: 103, and that's after I deleted some. (there's still some unecessary ones in there)

Yeah. I'm paranoid XD

It just sucks when youre like "shit, I want to change something on that layer..where is it? *turns on turns off turns on turns off*

There's still some issues with it but it was originally for the small version so I'm not going to fret about it. =)
nambroth From: nambroth Date: September 1st, 2005 09:08 pm (UTC) (Link)
103!! Wow!! I feel guilty if I get about three layers XD
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: September 1st, 2005 09:15 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thats just because I'm like "stroke...NEW LAYER...stroke...NEW LAYER"

I get really scared of doing something I can't fix XD Comes from a couple years of having clients who are like "oh..thats perfect..only, change everything" =P
maggock From: maggock Date: September 1st, 2005 10:26 pm (UTC) (Link)
3 is not too bad, I usually get 7 or 8 layers when I work in PS. Buuut now that Painter Classic is my favorite program, I only get 1 ;_____;

That came out awesome. Looks good when it's shrunk down as well.

It's kind of too late now, but for future references in case you ever decide to draw these guys again, you can tell male and female Bison apart by their horns ;) Male's curve upwards and female's point forward.

thats beautiful!

Just out of curiosity, has anyone done the three of hearts yet? I just had a neat little idea hit me. Barn owl faces look kinda lik hearts and that would be a pretty cool card for the project. Just throwing out ideas.
