Woodless pencil test/Gift Art
Tested out my new woodless pencils, and what better way to test out new soft graphite than with a completely black character? Gifty for bloodhoundomega

mm.yummy anatomy
How well do those woodless ones work, you recommend them/are they any good?

They're really good for shading because you can use the tilty slope side of the tip of the pencil (that would normally be covered by the raw wood) to cover large blocks of shading. That is what I've done here to block out my lighting.

oh..smart thorn.
I'm guessing they're at art stores? although I've never seen them there.

I got them at Michael's craft store but I've seen them at Aaron Brothers. They look like completely dark gray pencils but theyre just completely woodless. Theyre fragile though, because there's no wood supporting them, so you have to be a bit more careful with storing them.

nah they don't. theyre coated with a substance to keep the graphite from getting all over the place.

Oh, that is very pretty texturing...that looks really really good. Verra nice details with the shading and lighting effects.

Woo!! Same price as the first? (Winks) I'm just shovelling my money at you, I must apologize. But yay! Ears will remain perked on this.

Yep same price! Unfortunately due to rising Post Office shipping costs I've also had to raise my shipping for these to $3, but the books themselves will be only $15.

Gotcha, gotcha. Sounds good! $18 is still a very reasonable price for all the Thorny goodness lying in wait between those covers.
