I have to agree with using the eyedropper shortcut- If you don't use this already, Thorn, you should definately play with it. =) When I'm painting in photoshop, I usually hold my left hand over the alt and space keys. Makes life so much easier to just be able to pick up colors you already have there.

So if you start out really loose and smoodgy, you can just lay down a whole bunch of color and then move the edges of your colors around. =)

If you press the spacebar while you're painting (or erasing, or, -I think- doing anything in PS), it turns into a hand, which you can use to grab your picture and move around without having to scroll or anything. =)
