Really? I just got a series of like dots- not overlapping or anything, very strange. I don't know if I've got some kind of setting on that's just completely screwing with that or what. 0_o

that happened to me too. Turn off your pressure sensitivity and see what happens.

Here's the results I'm getting. I've tried turning off all the different pressure sensitive things, but I can't find where I might have an option to turn off all pressure sensitivity...

But I can't really understand how not having pressure sensitivity would make anything easier. =P

It just keeps the computer from eating so much ram, especially when using the blending tool. You can use a normal brush for coloring, just change the settings for the blender. The harder you push on your stylus the less you'll have to worry about those crazy dots.

I used that system for this picture a while back: http://www.deviantart.com/view/27543209/

Just something you have to play with. A friend of mine showed it to me :P

*nods* Well, I definately want to play around with it, but it might take a little getting used-to, since it's -very- different from the way I'm used to working. I'm never object to learning new tricks, though, there have been plenty of things like that that I heard about and never really used at all for a couple months or years and then one day it would just kind of -click- into place. Like, Oh! That's how I can do -that-.

Maybe I'm just a freak. 0_o

I'm the same actually. Sit for ages trying to get something right then come back to it a couple of days later and after 5 mins it clicks and things work

Then there's something else wrong that needs fixed :p

Another trick that can come in handy, if you don't quite like the colours in a particular area of your painting (shadows, highlights, etc) you can go to Image>Adjustments>Variations and change the colours around, getting to see previews in teh process. Wish I could remember who it was posted it as a tutorial, there example showed how useful it could be (changed warm shadows to cool ones to fit the piece better)

Instead of turning it off try turning it to 1%. Eats more ram, but you get no spotting at all (I think it means it puts down another circle every 1% of the diameter of the circle, so with a 100px brush it'd put one down every pixel, meaning you get complete smoothness)
