Nice. I'll have to check them out.

You may also like the German group, Klee. They have some nice stuff that has even crossed the pond to US college radio indie programs. Here is the song, LiebeMichLeben by Klee.

I'm also trying to track down a 80's German band known as The Lassie Singers.

hey not bad :) Another good song by WSH is "Guten Tag". +44 (a new band including old members from Blink182) did a cover of it...not as good as the original IMO but I'm still an old school Blink fan XD

What does the song exactly say? is it the story of those characters?

Here's the english version :) And naw its not, not really. its just a cartoon vaguely illustrating the basic mood of the song.

Love it! But what are they saying!? I don't know German that well. :/

Here's the english version :D Sorry. I tend to be one of those people who listens to music in a lot of different language. Currently my iPod ratio is 1 out of 3 songs are in english.

No, nothing wrong with that! I love German, I just can't remember it well enough to know what I am listening to. :/

And I do? :D lol! I like to make up words.

For example, once I rewrote the entire lyrics to Rammstein's "Adios" as I heard them.

"Er legt die Nadel auf die Arder, und bittet die Musik herein" turned into "We're licking harder often harder, a painted emu seeks a ride". :3

:D I did my German Cultural History final paper on WSH's GUTEN TAG song.

That one is total win. half the members from Blink182 (in their new band +44) did a cover of it, I was like "hurh?" And then I realized it was WSH's song and was all YUSSS!

The original's better ;P

And how do you write a cultural history paper on a song?
From: asathena Date: June 24th, 2007 06:16 pm (UTC) (Link)
Originals are always better, as a general rule.

I did a paper on how, while that the song's message is very anti-consumerist, the band itself can't escape the economics of the world around it (IE: their song is all FIGHT THE MAN! DON'T BE CORPORATE! but their website charges you for ringtones, and their corporation won awards for how the band was marketed.) I think I still have it around, if you want it.

sure! I'd love to check it out. And yeah that is pretty ironic.
