Ask me stuff
To break the monotony of drawing I figured I'd open myself up to Q and A. Go ahead, ask me anything you're curious about. If its too personal I'll say so but I'm pretty open. I'll probably just screen comments/answers that are a little too telling.

So yeah...ask me? XD

I has question.

What do you preffer? Traditional art, Digital art or both? Why?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 02:28 am (UTC) (Link)
I like digital art because its quicker and there's that magical undo button. But I admit sometimes I like to get messy and have something tangible for my efforts. But in general I prefer to do things digitally, especially complex color things.

So, when and how did you find out about the furry fandom?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 02:30 am (UTC) (Link)
When I was 11 I went online looking for Balto fan art websites, found itch.com, and stumbled upon Margaret Petrie's work (Nduli) and she had Yerf linked. Then I cruised Yerf and wanted to be like the artists on there. I had drawn anthropomorphic animals before that though. I think everyone who likes Warner Brothers did.

Where do you see yourself in ten years, professionally speaking? Do you see furry as a place where you can continue to be involved during the course of that time?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 02:55 am (UTC) (Link)
I hope I will have evolved past furry in 10 years. Not saying I don't want to be involved but I don't want that to be the only aspect of my life. I hope I'm making money off of my own projects at that point

Wealth. I hate managing people.

Hmm... why did you decide to change characters?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 03:13 am (UTC) (Link)
actually Thorn was never meant to be "me" in any way. She was just a character I made up to represent the cool username I created for myself "Thornwolf". She was just /a/ character, not my fursona or anything.

I've always been a dog when it came to drawing my real self but when i first made Niko I was heavily influenced by Balto and despite feeling like I represented an Aussie more I went with a husky/wolf dog thing cuz it was "cool". So finally I just went for broke and was like "yanno, screw it. I wanna draw myself the way I wanna draw myself, cool be damned".

I knew it would get confusing though, so I still use Thornwolf to represent my username but when it comes to /me/ I use Niko. If you had to break it down, Niko created Thornwolf XD

If you're meeting someone for the very first time (online or in real life), how would you best describe yourself?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 03:14 am (UTC) (Link)
Outspoken but friendly. I'm pretty personable especially in first meeting situations but I'd rather be acquaintances for a long time before I consider people "friends". This comes across pretty clearly in first meetings. I keep people at a safe distance but am still open to talk to if that makes any sense.

Definitely Norman Rockwell. I know thats so cliche but really his expressive work really inspires me, and I really feel he paved the way for illustrators to be more commercial rather than /just/ having to be in the fine art world.

If you didn't have your art talents, but you could choose to have any other talent, what would you pick and why?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 03:48 am (UTC) (Link)
Good question! Its a toss up between psychic abilities (because everything else is boring) or super awesome OMG RAD math skills because I love to work with money but numbers scare me, and they scare a /lot/ of people, so I think I could make a fair business being a financial adviser.

What is your art background? Have you had professional training? I took a color theory class back in college, but I have no idea how to manipulate colors the way you do. TELL ME YOUR SEEKRITS.
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 03:54 am (UTC) (Link)
No formal art training :) The farthest I got was advanced placement art and animation in highschool and 2 college courses at the Laguna College of Art and Design (as their summer program for highschoolers...that was figure drawing and fundamentals of drawing, no color theory there).

A lot of what I know I learned from others, knowledge of the basic color wheel, and also just looking and seeing what looks good XD

Thank yo though :D

If you are going to FC, can you visit my booth (or can I visit yours if you have one)? ^__^
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: October 22nd, 2007 04:39 am (UTC) (Link)
lol of course :) If I end up going (school possibly might hinder this) . I'm going to have a booth, but if I'm not there, vantid will be sharing with me, she'll just take it over then.

Death. But provided there are no reprocussions for this. Reason being, I can't even talk on the phone in front of other people much less pee, have sex, etc.

I don't wanna kill him but dammit I don't want him taking notes while I'm diddling my boyfriend.
