Badge for a Badgewearer
For wa_lawdawg

Yes that's a real road in San Bernardino :) Although the mountains look more like Needles, CA.

I dare you to pronounce it.

I can never pronounce Zzyzx. I try, every time I'm through there though. It's like someone just decided to name it with all the leftover letters from the alphabet. XD

That's exactly what my family thinks. Such a great road.

After you mentioned it is in San Bernardino County, and dared folks to pronounce it, I just thought it had to be Zzyzx Road.

A click for a closer look, and indeed it is.

Zyzix is the proper pronounciation.

After driving by it so many times, it deserves to be visited, there is some odd history there.

I actually have managed to get some of the products from that wacky place in my collection of odd and weird things.

I have photographs somewhere. Currently it is used by government organizations for offices and meetings. Yes. In, essentially the middle of nowhere.

They also have a rather substantial array of Solar Photovoltaic Panels there.

Sounds like "Sizzix?"

I love your work and grasp of anatomy. Did you do a lot of life studies? Reference studies? Any tips for helping with composition?

i took some life drawing classes when i was younger but i haven't for the past 2 years. a lot of it is just observation. like when im talking to people im looking at the way the light hits them or their anatomy >_> I still have a lot to learn though.

As far as composition I'm actually not that good at it, I have to really really think about it, but I guess just make sure your horizon line isn't smack dab in the middle of the page and divide your images into thirds. a character in the middle of an image is uninteresting.

There's another exit for that same place off the I-15 between Baker and Vegas. =};-3
