;D no problem. btw great sketches that you have done for everybody lately, are you going to include them in a later doodles booklet?

thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: November 3rd, 2007 09:57 am (UTC) (Link)
some of them I will include but I don't want it to be a commission heavy booklet, I'll probably include a portion in the next upcoming edition (which I'm currently working on) and some in future editions. I want to make sure I have some "never before seen" sketches included to make the booklet a bit more worthwhile :) I had hoped to have it finished before I left but nothing doing unfortunately XD Thank you!

remember sending one off to new zealand? i bought one off you a while ago, i thought it was funny how much effort you actually went to put it all together, theyre neat. personally i like the comments all over them.

its not hard to find a lot of your stuff on the internet but i was glad you printed a lot i hadnt seen. you should consider making a small booklet that only has new stuff no one has seen. it would be thorn doodles on crack.

haha saw this. typical california. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZMwKPmsbWE

that would be an idea. Maybe I could do it as a yearly thing or something cuz honestly aside from commissions I don't sketch that much these days so its not like there's a lot of new stuff to put in that hasn't already been put in already, but if I make it a yearly thing then I think that would be okay. Thanks for the idea, I shall ponder this :) Like Thornwolf's secret stash or something. And it would include NSFW stuff cuz a lot of what I don't post is NSFW >_>

where do you keep all your stuff outside of your computer?
i have a big accordion file i throw each drawing in , roughly in order of most recently drawn and category, maybe you should just keep all your drawings from the year together and make them as a booklet each december. thorn annual or something. a bundle of originals would sell like hotcakes. would you part with a collection of originals?
i noticed you were doing faces again and theyre looking great. im definitely jumping on that bandwagon and returning to practicing people. i think you have a knack for caricature especially

did you ever read any house of were comics?
done by gw and kyoht

Yeah I remember the HoW comics. I liked them quite a bit actually.

But I draw everything in my sketchbooks which I never cut anything out of. Its like...my diary. I feel okay with scanning them and sharing them but actually slicing my drawings out, I feel like I'm vandalizing myself somehow. I dunno. Cutting pages out of a book weirds me out. I tried to do the perforated sketchbook thing so if I wanted to sell an original I could easily take it out but those drawings I was "okay" with selling turned out to be ones I intentionally drew to sell and they didn't look as good.

yeah in the end you should put drawing for yourself like that over drawing for others. most people are probably curious though what you draw and dont reveal
a lot of the stuff i draw i dont show anyone even though its all on random sheets of paper. im terrible at keeping a sketchbook intact.

werent you considering a comic called muttroplis or something?
thornwolf From: thornwolf Date: November 5th, 2007 05:28 am (UTC) (Link)
Yeah I was but there's no real plot. Just real life scenarios I draw with my own characters. I put them up from time to time but I really don't draw it as much as I probably should and I certainly don't have the motivation to make it look nice (anything other than a sketch)
