Ahah!!! XD I absolutely agree with you! ... a good warm bath, with chocolate and music are the best things ever if you want to relax! =D

(... However, I never tried to listen to Mariachi Music in those occasions; I'll try it! ;)

I love mariachi music having grown up with it due to my parents and other family members who would have parties in their back yards with mariachis playing live. <3

lucky! I'd totally want that for my birthday sometime. I love Mariachi music, it puts me in such a good mood! We had it at a christmas party at work this last christmas. Most of our workers are Mexican so we had carne asada and the like.

I live in a neighborhood that's a mix of anglo & latino families, and every so often in the Spring or summer, someone will throw a nice party on a Saturday night with mariachis or bandas playing. I'd leave the windows open and fall asleep to the sounds of the guitarron and the vihuela...

Hahaha. Every day I'm coming home on the train, you're tired, you're about to doze off-- and there are the Mariachis.

I remember a con where the convention space was being shared with a "quebradita," a gathering of various mariachi & norteno bands. It was the same night as the con's masquerade, and I was one of the few dressed in such a way as to not stand out in either crowd. So I'd watch huge groups of flashily dressed Banderas & flashy Anime/Star Trek/Star Wars costumers look at one another with wide eyes, each side saying to themselves "What the hell is up with THAT bunch?"

Biggest laugh I had all year.

I think it would be amusing to have a "South of the Border" type of theme for a con sometime. If Further Confusion was able to pull off The Fur East and be able to have taiko drumming and panels talking about mythology and culture of Asia I don't see how a latin-flavoured theme couldn't be organized.

They could have mariachis, folklorico dancers and panels on the mythology. Plus, the room parties could mix margaritas, bloody Marys and sangrias. The con suite can serve up enchiladas, taquitos, nachos, salsas and more.;)

Hmm, all this talk makes me want a Mexi-styled icon.

Thats actuallly a very good idea. i think it would be best suited for califur as its usually right around cinco de mayo, but if I were you i'd suggest it to either con staff :3

That's an excellent idea, and Thorn's additional suggestion makes it a no-brainer.

I approve of furniture with paws.
