Baking soda and baking powder are used together quite commonly in baking (...hence the baking parts of their names, I suppose), but as the combination tends to give things an airy lift (think cake), not as commonly in cooking.

I love it so very very much. So far everything I've made from there has been delicious beyond reason, such as the carne asada and margaritas from Tyler Florence, the curried chicken and mango salad was from the Eating Well section, and tonight I'm making an African Tagine from Emeril. I hope it turns out well!
