Art - Personal
I'm sure its been noted that I don't really draw much anymore. Between work (which is also creative) and school, I just haven't had the time or the energy, and once I do get the energy, the guilt that I still have outstanding obligations makes me just..not wanna do anything. Its that whole thing, when faced with too many options I do nothing at all. That, and my muse has left me entirely. Its led to me refunding commissions and not taking on any more. Its been a long time since I drew for myself for the fun of it.

So I bought myself some black paper and that brown paper sketchbook you all saw earlier with the Astolpho piece. Sometimes new art supplies are enough to get the old creative juices flowing again.

My geology teacher was talking to me about how he likes dragons. I mentioned I don't draw them well because scales are really hard for me, so I figured I'd do a little experiment to both test out the paper and draw scales. While I was visiting this past weekend, skorzy's snake, Emmy, was the inspiration for me wanting to draw something scaley for once.

Salright I guess. But more importantly....it was FUN.

Having too many things/obligations sucks! I've been there, ha, I'm constantly there! Big reason why I feel so terrible about doing anything personal, I always have thoughts in the back of my brain saying, "What are you doing?!"

Thankfully I have worked most of the, not doing nothing, out of my system. I just do something completely different that benefits (in my mind) everything.;P

Killer job, I love art on a black canvas (one of my fav styles since a kid)! Try your paw at some scratch board. ;3

ive done lots of scratchboard in the past. in highschool my teacher called me the "scratchboard queen". unfortunately the repetitive motion and my arm crooked like that makes my elbow lock up so i cant do it as much. i do have a scratchboard project coming up though. the person has to get back to me on what they want (it was a charity auction up here for my school fundraiser)

Sweet! I didn't know! Sucks about the inhibiting elbow tho. :/

School fundraiser, eh? You charitable wolf you, well, you have my best regards to a most exceptional scratchboard project. :3

Awesome work. And yeah, that's why I had to cancel all my gift/non-commission work a few month back. It just was crushing...not that we can all do that, but cutting back and stepping back is really the only solution.

Paradoxically when I have a lot of free time and nothing to do I don't want to anything at all, I feel unbelievably lazy! :P
... and when busy with work or other things I feel inspired again! I want to do a lot of things at once (and sometimes I manage to finish them all) XD

Personally I think you should draw more dragons! ;D This one turned out fantastic!!!
BTW, tomorrow or tonight I'll finally finish that second icon I'm working on and I'll be able to draw for myself again! I wanna do a special thing for me: A full coloured scene about my story! I never used colours for something personal ... I never finished something personal as I wanted to do :P (Now I need to use my watercolours and inks again)

the most important thing is that it was fun. Sometimes the best experiments do not turn out as you had planned but you had fun getting dirty doing them, so hey! more power to ya.

that having been said, that looks awesome. :D All your stuff always does. ;)
