The Red Baroness - The art of Thornwolf — LiveJournal
The Red Baroness
So, I've sold my old car, the Minotaurus, to keesh and have recently acquired a new vehicle.

Meet "The Red Baroness" (Unofficially "The Scarlet Pumpernickel"), a Chevy HHR.

Within days of getting the car, some friends and I were able to test Baroness' camping abilities....in Death Valley.

I have to say, she more than exceeded expectations, holding three people and our gear comfortably, and providing a smooth ride to boot. I am pleased :)

Wow ... Big car! :P ;D ihihih
BTW, I saw that kind of roads only in one place: Egypt!!! XD

From Aswan to Abu Simbel it's very similar, a black straight line in the desert. =)

The bus driver was going at 160-170 km/h (99-105 mi/h) ... and it was a double-decker bus! XD

Much smaller than it looks! The curb weight of the Chevy HHR isn't much more than a VW Golf.

Yeah really! You look at it and you're like "augh mini SUV!" and then you get inside and you're like "oh....wait."

It was very hard to judge how our gear would fit, but it did! It was very much like playing tetris but not even as frustrating even when the music got faster and we could't get any straight pieces.

Death Valley is such an amazing place. Love Devil's Golfcourse and Devil's Cornfield. Badwater, Zabriskie Point and the steam tractor in Stovepipe Wells.

She's a stunner! I love the color! My parents have a silver HHR and it is such a comfortable car. They love it.

Wow.. Im impressed, the car looks so.. so.. Retro. I thought it was sort of an SUV but then there's that photo of you standing inf ront of it,and I realized it wasn't. Anyway, the top photo looks like a Car Ad for a magazine. Noce car.

P.S. How was the trip BTW?

Very very fun. Posting pics in a bit.

And yeah its one of those crossover cars, like a PT cruiser. It looks big but it drives like a regular sedan, but has a lot of storage space and stacking room. I tell you, we used every inch of it XD
