Browsing through skorzy's D&D monster manuals made me wanna reinterpret some of the monsters to my own liking. I think it was fairly obvious which one I was going to pick first.
"Sea Lion"

There are so many other things I should be doing right now but this has made me so unbelievably happy XD

Uh!!! Nice reinterpretation, I like the idea ... it turned out wonderfully! =D Ihih, it's funny, because this is one of those cases where the English name's the same in Italian:

Sea Lion - Leone Marino

Much awesomeness! I particularly like the way the mane and fins are mixed together, especially the tailtuft leading into the tailfins, as well as on the main mane (ha) and dewclaws.

More wootage for the scaling on the face, concentrated mostly on the eyes/nose/cheeks but with some space inbetween.

Glad you had fun with it :-)

Always love how just fluid you are with your sketches. :) They really stand out.

Speaking of standing out, I don't know how much you check your DA notes, but I sent you something in regards to a potential issue.

He looks awesome! I love how you blended the mane and the fin/frill things. And he's so swooshy! Love that tail!

This is gorgeous!
Just to let you know, I didn't forget to mail those little bags...I just had a hard time finding a tube to roll them up in for mailing. I didn't want to fold them. But, I found one they will go out tomorrow! Even though they are really late, maybe you can use them for your next con.

This is soooo wonderful! :D :D :D

I re-drew the creatures from my old (late 80's) D&D manuals, too, a number of times over the years (the most when I was in high school and had more time)! I never liked the game, but back then that was the best way to get a book with a collection of monsters in it! Some of the illustrations were fantastic, and some were... pretty awful. X_X If the sea lion I'm thinking of is the same as the one you saw, it's one of the, uh, more awful ones.
