Badge - The art of Thornwolf — LiveJournal
Badge for my friend for his birthday. At least it's better than the cake I made.

Haski Badge

My ArtRage has been freaking out and not working, so I had to do this in Photoshop. Has anyone else been having problems with ArtRage putting /too/ much texture into your medium so much so that it looks like jagged gray peaks if you layer it up even just slightly? I've tried everything, even redownloading. I think it's a glitch.

I didn't know it was his birthday. ;.;

I'm so out of the SoCal loop. Looks nice though. :3

Whats the big difference between all these programs? I just use photoshop, but I'd also like to learn painter. These however are merely two names amongst an army of other art programs which I've seen other people swear by. What about them makes them work for you?

I like ArtRage because it takes the guess work about making real media type textures. The problem with it is it doesn't do so well for really high res images because the paper texture "repeats"itself and its also really slow on my computer (could just be my computer though). I use photoshop primarily, as artrage doesn't really have any of the editing capabilities anyways.

A lot of my friends use Painter almost exclusively. It has more editing capabilities and a ton more brush options than artrage, but it's another of those programs that mimics real media without having to make custom brushes.

Awesome job Thorn.

I liked painter when I was using it. I want to try Art Rage once I procure another tablet, it was a sweet looking program other than the strange overtexture effect.

Photoshop still remains my choice.

Thank god, my financial course is finally over, maybe I can be a little social. :3
