$5 toony sketches. If you want one I'm still doing them! Just comment or email me or note me on FA, whichever you like :)

An illustration (that I of course did not do) taken from the "Mother Goose in California" book I bought. I'm such a Cali junkie :) But I thought a lot of you might enjoy it, I know I sure love this image for a lot of reasons, can you figure out why?

Yay for Sketches! =D I'd like to draw short comics like you but, apparently, I don't have a life right now! XD BTW, about that page, is that something bear-related? :P ;)

That's one reason, yes!

Wow, what a great illustration. I am not sure that there is anything not to love about it. The colors. The framing. The handling of the subject matter...!

I was constantly inspired by the work of Jan Brett (who's apparently a local here) when looking at Em's kids books. The books were a complete work of art, from borders to characterizations. Though I think her personal writings are somewhat bland, the art is really something else.

Yeah re: Jan Brett the writing isn't spectacular and it's mostly recycled and revamped anyways, but I just LOVE her art. I picked up a collection book of hers recently, the Mitten, The Three Snow Bears, Gingerbread Man, and I think a couple of others.

This book though I had to get because it deals with California, local critters, and childhood memories :) What's not to love?

Good god! Jan Brett!! I found The Mitten YEARS ago and LOVED her so much but couldn't find anything else of hers around. I'd completely forgotten about her stuff until now, thank you guys so much for reminding me to look her up!

Well hello Reaper I haven't seen you here in awhile :3

And yeah I found her Snow Bears actually really recently...as recently as December. I'd never seen her stuff before! I feel so behind the times, but oh man, what a treat for the eyes.

Ahahahaha, Snuggie! I love mine, but yes, it is hard to walk in. Hmmm... >D

I love how the modified snuggie essentially makes you look like a homeless person. It's the patch/stitch marks. SO CUTE XD

Speaking of the Snuggie:

Heh, even before I saw Skorzy's response, I was like "wait, doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of buying a Snuggie instead of a big sweatshirt?" XD

LOL ok that "bleep"-ing Ovechkin drawing still has me giggling.
And the modified Snuggie is hilarious!

Just wanted to say that I was surprised to see the Mother Goose illustration! My biology professor friend is the younger brother of the author/illustrator of the book. I was lucky enough to snag a signed copy. <3 The illustrations are gorgeous!!

And your doodles crack me up. The style is always hilarious.
