Yeah, sales aren't great for me at this con, but if it's feasible (depending on where I'm living next year), I'm going to try to attend anyway to support my Thong :)

Congratulations on the GOH! I've done it, and it's great, just make a couple of good panels together and polish your public speaking skills. But you'll do great.

Since I took public speaking class my public speaking skills have improved a lot. Could still use a little practice but I'm better when I ad-lib as opposed to HAVING to hit talking points for a grade. Too much pressure!

Thanks!

And yeah he was so cool. He was one of the better Java suits I've seen and had a lot of attitude and was very well made. One of my favorite childhood toon characters, I HAVE to get a photo of myself with him!

Congratulations on being chosen as a Guest of Honor!!! =D

Sounds like the con was bad financially for most dealers, mega-bummer if you ask me. Here's hoping FC will be better!

Thanks! And yeah I've heard a real mixed bag of previous MFF's but the average experience of this one business-wise is negative. I hope this changes next year. Hope springs eternal!

It was awesome meeting you, briefly :) I hope your dragees made it through security all right?

I haven't gone home yet, but I will be sure to let you know! They're in my money box, so we'll see if they even peek in there. Eldarath said that they won't show up as metallic on the x-ray.

Thank you again, and it was a pleasure meeting you as well!

I'm sure there will have to be tweaks made to how spaces are used at that hotel next year. Both the Dealer Room and artist Alley essentially need small ballrooms. I believe the Dealer Den got the largest one not being used for events that had easy access to the loading dock. If it's any consolation, traffic in both spaces appeared to be about the same over the course of the weekend based on what I saw.

The fursuit parade didn't go down to the international level. The escalators is narrow, doubling the parade back on itself is something we try to avoid, and most importantly, there are low places where a number of costume heads could potentially hit sprinkler heads. That would have caused bad things to happen.

Just as at the Shaumburg Hyatt, the lower level at the O'hare Regency was once a parking level. Thus the low ceilings and bad radio/cell reception. It is sturdy though. ;-)
